Have you tried any of the new Photopolymer stamp sets that Stampin’ Up! has been offering for almost a year now? There have been a load of fun designs presented over the last few months. One recent set I had to have as soon as it came out. It’s called Countless Sayings. Actually, there are two sets. Countless Sayings 1 and Countless Sayings 2. Now I wasn’t sure what I was going to make with them, but I loved the sentiments, the typography and the variety of sizes.
Well along came a post on the Stampin’ Up! blog and I just knew that I was going to have to CASE the idea of combining Countless Sayings and paper piecing. So today I pulled out the Fresh Prints ( I keep thinking Fresh Prince) designer series paper stack that I received at Leadership. (You can get one from the Occasions catalog). The pack has a variety of prints. I wanted to see if I could make this one work.
The color combination starts with a Burnt Brown Sugar card base. Next up is a layer of Coastal Cabana. The top layer is Whisper White that was stamped with “Love” inked with Burnt Brown Sugar. Isn’t the size wonderful? Then, I inked up “Love” again and stamped on my Fresh Prints paper. Time to pull out the paper snips and do some fussy cutting. Once the pieces were cut, I did some paper piecing over the image stamped on the Whisper White. The banners/flags were created using the Arrows embossing folder on a piece of Real Red cardstock. I trimmed pieces of the embossed cardstock to create the flags. Then, I finished with some Dimensionals under the Whisper White layer and three Basic Pearls along the right hand side.
Try this at home! I used Countless Sayings 1 (#135892) for my card. Get it here.
Please leave a comment, I love to hear what you have to say!
