First, I want to thank everybody for the lovely comments on yesterday’s project! You know, sometimes you make something and you’re not quite sure if you hit the mark or if it was a miss. Yesterday was one of those days. So, thank you for the vote of approval. And just so you know, I always appreciate when you take the time to let me know that you like a creation.
Today, I figured that everyone will eventually be working on packaging this month. And as popular as the Mistletoe and Holly Paper Pumpkin kit was (it’s completely sold out!), I figured you might like an idea or two for additional ways to use the stamp set. As you can guess, I combined these two thoughts.
First, here is the gift box that I created.
The box itself was made from Crumb Cake cardstock. Then using the Softly Falling embossing folder, the front panel was embossed.
Here is the video tutorial for the box.

Now that you’ve got your box, it’s time to embellish.
I decided to add a lavish “bow” to the box.
The box has been wrapped with Sahara Sand Lace Trim. To that I’ve added1/8″ Gold Ribbon, Linen Thread and Gold Sequin Trim.
This over the top bow really sets the box apart!
And of course there was stamping! I stamped both “Joy” and “Noel” on square pieces of Whisper White. But two squares on the front of the box just did not work. I was pleased to find out that these two words fit the 1 1/4″ circle punch.
After punching, I layered “Joy” with a Gold Metallic Doily. And then layered that piece over my angled “Noel”.
I think it looks both festive and inviting.
Who wouldn’t like a gift that comes in a box like this?
If your gifts won’t fit in this box, maybe you’d like to make some tags using your Mistletoe and Holly stamps.
Didn’t you just love the die cut mistletoe in the kit?
Well, I started thinking about how to have more of that and hit upon the idea of using the tree from the Tree Builder Punch. I’ve flipped it upside down and added some Basic Pearls for berries. If you ask me, it looks similar.
The Cherry Cobbler sentiment is from the Mistletoe and Holly stamp set.
The Whisper White layer was added to a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Both pieces were punched with the Ornate Tag Topper punch and then loops of Linen Thread and Gold Bakers Twine were added.
That’s it for today’s riff on the November Paper Pumpkin kit.
One final thought though…if you haven’t finished your holiday shopping, consider a gift of Paper Pumpkin.
It’s all inclusive and delivers itself!
