I had so much fun playing yesterday and taking a love or Valentine’s Day card in a different direction that, when I got up this morning, that’s all I could think about! What are some other possibilities? I’ve come up with a short list. I’m sure there are waaay more. But for today, I’ll share just one.
I’ve combined Acorny Thank You with GDP022 and SIP34 – a sketch and theme challenge respectively.
I used a color scheme of Pool Party, Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow with a splash of Silver.
I was thinking non-traditional “love”, Valentine’s or anniversary card.
I was thinking I had a sentiment idea that wasn’t on a stamp I own.
You know what I found out? Right?
“I’m nuts about you” is part of the Acorny Thank You stamp set.
But, I decided to roll with my original plan anyway.
After putting together my Lost Lagoon base and the Pool Party stripes, I added a layer of Birthday Bouquet designer paper.
Next, I added a Silver Metallic Doily. These are just the best embellishments for pulling in the uber popular gold or silver accent.
One of the acorns is punched from Lost Lagoon cardstock. The top of this acorn is covered with Everyday Chic washi. The other acorn is stamped in Lost Lagoon and Pool Party. (If you’d like to know how to do that all at one time, check out this video.)
Before adding the acorns to the doily with dimensionals, I tucked in a bow made from loops of Linen Thread.
And finally, I used the Alphabet Rotary Stamp to create my “original” sentiment. (Still just SMH).
Regardless, it’s a fun “love” card for that special someone in your life. And it definitely works if you’re looking for a more masculine looking card.
