Hi there! How are you today? We have something special for you today with our colors of courage theme for the ICS blog hop. You can find a pretty good list of support/awareness ribbon colors and causes here. My creation is for Alopecia. Alopecia areata is a common autoimmune skin disease, causing hair loss. It effects 6.8 million people in the U.S. I’ve come to my awareness kind of sideways through Facebook. I’ve been so impressed with a young teenager who has Alopecia. See, her mom regularly shares pictures. My ICS Blog Hop Ribbon of Courage is in honor of her. Sometimes she is bewigged, sometimes she’s wearing a blue bandana but my favorite pictures were from a fashion shoot where she did not cover her head. She’s a strong, beautiful person. Here’s a link for more information on Alopecia.

ICS Blog Hop Ribbon of Courage

The awareness ribbon color for Alopecia is blue.
So for my card base and first layer, I used Pacific Point cardstock.
Then, I added a layer of Whisper White.
On that layer, I stamped the two sizes of hearts from Ribbon of Courage.
The hearts were embossed in Clear.

Next, I used watercolored with Pacific Point ink
before sponging on more Pacific Point around the edges.
After that, I embossed the ribbon in Pacific Point on Pacific Point cardstock.
The ribbon was cut with the Support Ribbon Framelits.
For the sentiment, I embossed “courage” from Ribbon of Courage.
Then, I cut it out with the Everyday Label Punch.
See a chart of alternate punch ideas here.
To finish, I added the looping strip of Silver Mini Sequin Trim.
