It’s a summer favorite. Doesn’t the sound of the ice cream truck bring back fond memories? Well I took one look at What’s Your Type and thought, “there’s an ice cream cone.” I’m sure on another day this set will say something else to me — in fact it screams versatility. But back to the ice cream – yumm!
I started with colors because I was determined to use some Flowerpot designer paper today. You see when I opened my order, it was in the box. I hadn’t ordered it. Well, yes I had. I just meant to order washi tape instead. The numbers are very similar. This happens to me on occasion when I’m really excited. So, I decided to use it as a creative challenge. Today’s challenge was to use the first bit of the designer paper.
I really liked this design with it’s colors and geometric design. It looks fresh and summery.
My ice cream flavors, I mean colors, were chosen to coordinate. I used Crisp Cantaloup on the solid scoop and Strawberry Slush on the striped scoop. The shapes/scoops were punched with the 1 3/4″ circle punch.
A cherry was added to the top scoop by punching a half inch circle and adding Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details. I used the same 1/2 inch circle punch to nip the sides of the focal layer.
A cone in Soft Suede was added along with a few sequins from the new In Color Sequin Assortment. After adding Stampin’ Dimensionals under the focal layer, ice cream scoops and cherry, I tied on a twist of Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloup Thick Bakers Twine.
We need to have an ice cream party.
