I’ve been busy the last few days finishing up requested items for this and that. This morning, I realized that I have a craft show this weekend and I haven’t created any Easter themed items. I really need to do that! I decided that Honeycomb Happiness, with its cute little chick, was a good place to get this creative ball rolling. Easter cards have not traditionally been a big seller for me but, 3D items and packaging have been. Everybody seems to love something that will hold a few pieces of candy or a gift card. And that can make a nice gift/favor for family or be given to a coworker/friend as a friendly holiday gesture.
Here’s what I came up with this morning to fit that bill.
I knew I wanted to make something 3D that would hold a few treats or a gift card.
And, I decided it had been far too long since I’d given a little love to my Gift Bag Punch Board.
Love this tool and it couldn’t be easier to use.
I didn’t feel like coloring this morning but, I did want my chick to be colored.
So I pulled out my Cherry On Top designer paper and stamped the Honeycomb Happiness chick in Basic Black.
After fussy cutting the chick, I decided it needed a little something more. So, I took my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write marker and colored in the beak and feet. Just enough accent!
Next,
I punched a piece of Vellum using the Tree Builder punch.
Then after adhering it to the gift bag, I brushed it with some Clear Wink of Stella.
Sorry for the overall photo quality. But, this way you can see how sparkly it is!
For the gift bag,
I used a 4″ x 11″ piece of Soft Sky cardstock. Scoring for a medium bag, the Gift Bag Punch Board made it a snap.
An inch of fringed Wild Wasabi grass brought the whole thing together.
Add a little grass, tissue or shred and your box will be ready for candy or even a gift card.
I think this box is perfect for Easter, a Spring party or even a Baby Shower.
