Mom and I did a little shopping yesterday, a little eating and a lot of just hanging out. I loved her interaction with my daughter when she Facetimed us. The two of them had both of us rolling in the floor with laughter! I love that my daughter has a relaxed (yet respectful) relationship with my mom. My mom commented that she felt like she was just one of the girls — that’s really a cool thing between an eighteen year old and a ninety-two year old!
Today, I have another gift packaging idea for you.
I know we all give gift cards to someone.
But if you’re like me, though it can be the perfect gift, it feels like it needs a little something with it.
I’ve seen several of this idea gift card holder and wanted to modify it to hold the candy I want to include – Hershey’s Deluxe Kisses.
Directions:
I used a 6-3/4″ x 11″ piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
It is scored on the portrait side at: 5-3/4″ and 1″
Turning a quarter to the landscape side, score at: 2-3/4″x 5-1/4″, 6-3/4″, 8, 9-1/2″ and 10-3/4″
Cut the side tabs off of the two large sections and fold the top section forward.
Adhere a 2-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ piece of This Christmas designer paper to the front panel.
Use the 1″ circle punch and punch a half circle notch in the center edge of this front panel.
Add Tear and Tape along the bottom edge, and inside left edge and adhere to the back panel.
Tip: I inserted an old gift card as a guide for the Tear and Tape.
Fold box section forward at each score line.
Using the Decorative Label punch, punch on the score line that connects the top and front panels of the box.
Add a 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece of Window Sheet inside the box using Tear and Tape at the top and bottom of the punched hole.
Add Tear and Tape to the 1/4″ tab at the end of the box. Attached to the bottom front of the gift card panel. Make sure to square things up.
Fold in the left side tabs and adhere with Tear and Tape.
On the right side, remove the back and bottom tabs. Then cut a 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ piece of Cherry Cobbler. Score at 1/4″. Fold along the score line and taper the ends of the 1/4″ section. Attach this piece under the front tab with Tear and Tape. This will create a tuck tab closure for the box.
Add a 1-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ piece of This Christmas designer paper to the front panel of the box.
Stamp “Have Yourself a Merry Christmas” from Holly Jolly Layers ( 142223) in Garden Green on Very Vanilla cardstock.
I cut the Very Vanilla piece with a Stitched Shapes Framelit.
Then, I cut a scalloped piece of Gold Glimmer Paper for a subtle accent using the Layering Squares. I love that you get just a peek of glimmer!
I then cut out the center of the scalloped square so that it would be easier to attach the sentiment square with Dimensionals.
Just add candy and a gift card!
