Creatively the last few days have had me thinking about “High School Musical”. If you’ve watched it you’ll remember the scene on the basketball court where they’re singing “getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha head in the game.” I’ve been feeling like my head is not in the game. But for me the best answer for that is to keep on plugging, making anything and usually I’m back to my normal creative level in a few days.
I was thankful this morning that I already had the stamp set chosen as it’s #stampingsunday today. So, out came Geometrical. My first go this morning was horrible! I just left it on the table and headed off to Sunday school. That’s not my usual style. Usually, I keep playing with something until it comes around. You know the saying, “Mistakes are just a creative opportunity.” This morning it was so bad, um there were sooo many creative opportunities, I just let it go.
Things definitely looked up after lunch. So, here’s my #stampingsunday submission.
As I stated before, this week’s #stampingsunday stamp set/tool was Geometrical. My palette was Basic Black, Whisper White, Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush. I’ve used Geometrical before, but nothing this bold. Washi tape from the Retro Fresh and Gingham Garden collections was placed over Whisper White cardstock and adhered to the Basic Black base. The Whisper White layer was added to the washi as it is sheer and would not have popped directly on the Basic Black. Next came a strip of Coastal Cabana 3/8″ Ruffled Stretch Trim adhered with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. Love the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet particularly for ribbon and small pieces. The Coastal Cabana and White striped designer paper is from the Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack. Over it I layered: black chevrons created with the Chevron punch; Geometrical triangles inked in Strawberry Slush; and cut with the Triangle punch. Each of the triangles is popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional and then finished with a Basic Rhinestone.
Have you shared your Geometrical creation yet for #stampingsunday? When you do be sure to include #stampingsunday. Don’t forget you can “follow” my #stampingsunday board on Pinterest.
