Sometimes I just crack myself up! At those times I either hope no one else notices or they’re laughing along with me. Well today when I saw that it was Static Electricity Day there was only one thing I could think of — because it was cracking me up. I hope you laugh along with me as this Hey Chick good hair day card!
Hey Chick Good Hair Day
My card for Static Electricity Day
features this group of chickens from Hey Chick.
Their plumage cracks me up to begin with and when I thought about Static Electricity…well it made me think about hair….which made me think about these gals.
I’ve used a Melon Mambo base with a Whisper White cardstock layer.
I stamped the group of chick(en)s in Basic Gray Archival Ink.
After stamping the first chicken, I masked it and stamped the next one and the same for the last chicken in the row. The fourth chicken was stamped and colored then cut out.
For “doing” their hair, I used the new Watercolor Pencils – Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Old Olive. They were super easy to work with and achieve a variety of shading.
Around their feet, I used the fine splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and selectively stamped bits in Bermuda Bay.
I used the Labeler Alphabet and Memento Black ink to create the sentiment on Whisper White. After cutting out the word strips, I used pieces of Foam Adhesive Strips to adhere the words.
A strip of Pop of Pink Washi was added just above the bottom of the Whisper White layer. Over that, I attached a piece of Gold Sequin Trim using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.
After adhering the fourth chicken using Dimensionals, I added a cluster of Basic Rhinestones.
I hope you’ve laughed with me!
I’ve got a couple of friends that this “Just Because” card will be perfect for – #sendhappymail
