As we round the curve into the last part of the school year, I started thinking about all of the volunteers that have helped me complete the tasks I have taken on the last three years. There have been many who have stepped up and helped and a handful that have come through every time I have asked. Before I finish out the year, I need to begin to create and send those thank you’s that while not expected are certainly due. The last four years have enriched my life and I want to share my appreciation with those who have helped me. A quick email is just not the same.
Here is the first of the cards I will create.
Edit: If you like my card, please vote for it!
I love a good clean and simple card!
This image from Helping Me Grow was perfect for creating just that! Which is important, if I decide to make multiples.
I started by stamping the image in Basic Gray. Then using Blender Pens with Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz ink pads, I colored in the image. This technique is similar to watercoloring but, the color is not as loose.
I love the way they turned out! These flowers remind me of the muscari planted in front of my entryway. Just like some of my volunteers, they come back every year.
Both the frame for the sentiment and the sentiment itself are also from Helping Me Grow. They were both inked in Wisteria Wonder. Then, I used one of the Rose Garden Thinlits to cut out the sentiment layer.
Tip: Put both the frame image and the sentiment on your block at the same time and stamp. It’s easier to make sure “thanks” is aligned properly in the frame.
After adhering the layers to a Wisteria Wonder base, I added a simple embellishment of large Basic Rhinestones.
Helping Me Grow makes an easy, clean and simple card.
