It’s been a lazy working day today. After getting up later than usual, reading part of the paper and watching a couple of videos from last night’s band performance, my daughter and I hung out for a bit. While she spent time with a girlfriend this afternoon, I worked on my creation for today. I’m taking a little time to get this posted while we wait for the small batch Maple Walnut ice cream, that she picked up while she was out, to refreeze.
So here we go while we’re waiting:
The card combines a color challenge and a sketch challenge.
And dots. Lots of dots!
This card started with a Mint Macaron base followed by a layer of Basic Black.
The Whisper White focal layer was Clear embossed after stamping with Dotty Angles.
Then, the sentiment from Hello Life was added along the bottom in Basic Black.
Next, it was time to build the focal point. It started with a Silver Metallic Foil Doily.
followed by a piece of Sketched Dots bag over a strip of Mint Macaron. This piece was accented with a center stripe of Silver Glimmer Paper.
The next layer is a 2 inch circle of Basic Black that was embossed with the Softly Falling folder. I love the way the dots on the folder mimic the same cluster and dispersal that you see in the Dotty Angles stamp used on the Whisper White layer.
Finally, I added a Whisper White Sweetheart punch layered with a Watermelon Wonder heart from Hello Life. Here again, the dot theme carried through.
