This has been a crazy creative week! I’m not sure I have ever created so many new things in so little time! I think maybe I need to do this more regularly!! I’m heading home for a few days with my mom. And though I usually take things along to create, I don’t end up making them. But this time while I’m gone, I will be getting crafty — at tonight’s Girls Night Out! My sister is hosting some of her friends. I’m looking forward to it! One of the things I created yesterday was a card using Hello Friend for GDP092. It’s the first time I’ve inked this stamp set. Let’s take a look!
Hello Friend for GDP092
This week’s Global Design challenge is to case Steffi Helmschrott,
one of the design team members.

Here’s my take on her card.

–
For my CASE, I chose to go with:
- One larger image
- Lighter/darker tone of same color
- Three embellishments
- Banner with overlay of sentiment
- Diagonal background
- Coloring
- The ribbon around jar
–
–
My single image is the wreath, of course.
I used Pear Pizzazz and Sweet Sugarplum Stampin’ Write Marker to color this image.
After coloring, I used the Pear Pizzazz marker to thump on some additional texture/shading
Instead of having a background designer paper layer,
I stamped a diagonal pattern (there was a diagonal stripe in the original).
The background pattern brings in a second tone of the same shade.
The original used blues, I used purples.
I inked the stamp for the background in Rich Razzleberry and stamped once at full strength.
Then, I stamped twice more without inking again.
I cut the banner from Vellum and overlaid it with
the sentiment from Hello Friend.
Behind the sentiment layer, I’ve tied in the ribbon
by adding Gold Metallic Thread loops.
The card is finished with three embellishments – 5mm Basic Pearl Jewels.
Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my Hello Friends for GDP092 card!
