Happy Birthday and Other Stuff

I’ve been a bit busy for the past few days.  In fact, I almost didn’t get my post up for the Creation Station blog hop this past Sunday.  You see, I had gone home to visit my mom.  We were able to get most of the family together on Sunday to celebrate.  She turned 90!! I love spending time with mom and family.  And as an added bonus and surprise for mom, one her far flung grandkids was able to make it in.  She’s hard to surprise but this was a good one.

Returning home, it was time to get ready for Monday.  I held an Open House in honor of World Cardmaking Day and aside from cards that attendees took home, I have a nice stack of cards to send off to the troops.

So today was the first day I could even produce a halfway creative thought.  I think you will like what I came up with.  After you check it out, don’t forget to keep scrolling for the Weekly Deals and new digital downloads.

I pulled out the Note Tag Punch from the Holiday Catalog and had a brainstorm.

I love when one thing can be made into something else entirely.

 

 

I was creating a scene using images from Festival of Trees.  I sponged on some Soft Sky at the top of my Whisper White layer.  Then added my trees inked in Mossy Meadow.  One is full strength and the other two are stamped off to some degree.

 

Next, I added a strip of Whisper White near the bottom. Dazzling Details was added there, along the horizon and on some of the tree branches to line to mimic fresh, sparkly snow.

Now, I wanted something else in my scene and I didn’t have any sled, ski or skate stamps.  There is where the brainstorm happened.

 

 

 

 

 

I used the Note Tag Punch to create the sled.  It’s quick and easy.  Check out the video below for the “how to”.
