We have the usual planned here – a little cookout. Then this evening, we’ll go somewhere to watch the fireworks. Here at home, we’ll spend a little time talking about the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of this great nation and what our obligations are in order to safeguard them. Then later this month, we’ll listen to the Declaration of Independence read at a community celebration as Easton is one of only three cities in which it was read during July 1776.
So what am I sharing today? Something a little explosive.
I started by making these cute little firecrackers. The Crushed Curry burst is from Calling All Heroes. The wick is a piece of Gold Baker’s Twine with a bit of Gold Stampin’ Glitter for the flame. The Night of Navy firecrackers were run through the Stylish Stripes embossing folder to give them a little texture.
The bursts were fussy cut by hand and adhered to the Flowerpot Designer Series paper with Multipurpose Glue. Using a dab of Crystal Effects, the wicks and glitter flames were added. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to pop up the firecrackers.
The final detail is the row of Night of Navy stars. The stamp is from the June Paper Pumpkin Kit. To cut the banner shape, I used a framelit included with the Circle Card Thinlit.
