Hi! Welcome to my blog. Today, I’ve got a Great Big Greetings for Valentines Day masculine card to share with you. It woke me up at 4:00 a.m. You see, last night I had pulled out a couple of things I thought I might like to create with this morning. At 4:00 a.m., my brain was on overdrive creating this card. So, I had to get up and make it. I really do love when it’s kind of made in my head before I start! Though usually, I’m just playing along to see where I end up.

My Valentine’s Day card for him is full of texture!
Both visual and actual.
I started with a Dapper Denim cardstock base.
Then, I added a Very Vanilla layer stamped with Hardwood in Dapper Denim.
Over that layer is a piece of Wood Textures designer paper.

Next, I cut a Layering Circle and ran it through the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder.
Tip: Spritz the cardstock with alcohol first. The damp cardstock will stretch in the folder more easily. And, the alcohol will dry quickly and not leave a watermark.
Over the embossed circle are pieces of Corduroy and Burlap Ribbons.
Then, I added my favorite distressed heart from Sure Do Love You.

For the focal image, I stamped a sentiment from Great Big Greetings.
Then, I cut it out with the Tailored Tag Punch.
Next, I used my Fine Tip Glue Pen to outline the heart
before heat embossing in gold.
I decided to leave the “fly away” bits of embossing powder on.
They add another bit of distressed look.
Before attaching the focal image with Stampin’ Dimensionals,
I added a few loops of Linen Thread for even more texture.
