I’m on a heat embossing streak again. Every so often, I fall in love with it all over again and then all of my creations reflect this for a while. I realized as I finished my photos today, that I’ve been embossing fairly regularly for the last couple of weeks.
Today, I used Letterpress Winter and found that it looks really good in Gold.
I have to say that shiny seldom fails to please. And the snowflakes from Letterpress Winter embossed in Gold are a win.
This is part of the detail on the side of the box that I created to hold today’s cards. The snowflake was cut by hand. Then, I layered on a Very Vintage designer button and a Gold sequin. Those buttons are on my reorder list again, I can’t believe how many of them I have used!
I used Pear Pizzazz to create the base of my box. And then I layered on some of the All is Calm designer paper from the Holiday Catalog. I gave this a little accent by matting it on a piece of Very Vanilla.
Then starting with a Very Vanilla cardstock base, I randomly stamped the smallest snowflake in the Letterpress Winter set. It was inked in Pear Pizzazz. The larger snowflakes were inked with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold.
I centered the one large snowflake than placed the middle sized snowflake randomly around the largest one. You’ll notice that I even added a snowflake to the corner of the envelope.
Tip: You’ll want to stamp with the Pear Pizzazz first. Why you ask? If you add the Pear Pizzazz after the embossing, part of each of the Pear Pizzazz snowflakes will rub off and quite possibly smear onto your card. Could be a neat effect. Also, might not be what you desire.
I’ll be posting a video for making the box. So check back in the next few days.
