I’ve been playing this morning! I had this need to pull out something that I hadn’t worked with in a while. As it turned out, I used some older product and some newer product to create my box. This is totally a keeper idea, it went together so easily. Check it out.
I started with some Coaster Board (#129392). Have you worked with this yet? It has lots of body yet is thin enough to use with dies and embossing folders. I usually use it to make embellishments, but not today. I cut my box pieces and then ran them through the Decorative Dots embossing folder. Then I mixed up some Bermuda Bay spritz in my Stampin’ Spritzer (Bermuda Bay ink refill and alcohol – no exact recipe required). After spritzing all of my pieces inside and out, I gently rubbed my Gold Metallic pad (#132141) across the dots. It gave them a shimmery, distressed look. Next came Retro Fresh washi tape to hold all of the pieces together. It makes a great accent doesn’t it? On the top I placed a felted ball from the Sale-A-Bration Heartfelt Banner Kit (#133514). I adhered it, the Gold Bakers Twine and the Vintage Faceted button with Crystal Effects. Tip: put a little Crystal Effect on the tip of the Bakers Twine to keep it from fraying.
Cute, quick, easy. What could be better? Go to my store to get your Coaster Board so you too can make these easy boxes.
Do something creative today.
Adorable! Would love have the instructions for this!
Teresa ~ I’ll see about putting together more detailed instructions than were in my Fresh Decorative Dots post.
