Frankenstein and the Mayflower

Say what?  What do Frankenstein and the Mayflower have in common?  Nothing that I know of — other than this post.  I got a little creative crazy and instead of spreading things out, I just want to share them.  Frankie has been in my head for a couple of weeks but I guess it wasn’t time for him to come out until this morning.  And the Mayflower?  Well maybe not the Mayflower but you’ll get the idea when you scroll down.

Also, be sure to check out this week’s deals and the giveaway you’ll want to enter.

So first up are Frankie and Mrs. Stein.

Fun Fall Framelits Frankie and Mrs. Stein from

I thought of these guys a couple of weeks ago when I was using the Fun Fall Framelits to make a Peony.  I’ll be using Frankie and Mrs. Stein as the tags for the goodie bags for this week’s sax section treats.

Now last week’s treat is one you will want to try!

Pretzel and Milky Way Bites from

Not only  was I short on time last Friday, but I was short on supplies.  I found I was out of Hershey Kisses and had to improvise.

I sliced up fun size Milky Way bars (4 slices per bar) and added one slice to each pretzel.  Then I ran these in a 350 oven for about 3 minutes.  Finally, I pulled them out and topped them with another pretzel and left them to cool.  YUMMY!!!

Now for a little Paper Pumpkin fun.

I’m thinking Thanksgiving table decor.  This is the second year that I will be hosting Thanksgiving and am excited to plan a few things for my table.

After creating with the October Paper Pumpkin kit last week, I saw this as a possibility in my scraps.

October Paper Pumpkin alternate creation from

I created my “Mayflower” from the pieces that would close the back of the pie boxes that are in the October Paper Pumpkin kit.  The sails were cut with one of the Apothecary Framelits and threaded onto a skewer piece.  The banner is a piece of Very Vanilla and is stamped with one of the October, 2014 Paper Pumpkin stamps.  The diagonal striped piece is the “leftover” piece from one of the die cut tags in the kit.
