Hi! Welcome to my blog. This afternoon, I spent a little time creating a framed piece. I don’t often create framed art. But, I should! Somehow, I’ve convinced myself that it is harder than it really is. Today’s piece is in response to a challenge that I set last week in my SU Style Home Decor group: create a framed piece that somehow relates to February. My framed Sure Do Love You piece is perfect for Valentines Day, anniversary or even an engagement or wedding present.

I had this pretty gold frame on hand.
I’m guilty of buying frames that I like and waiting for the right photo or project to come along.
This one mesaures 3-1/2″ x 5″.
So, it’s the perfect size for those of us who most often make cards.

At the bottom of my Very Vanilla insert, I stamped with
the dots from Petal Palette in Pool Party.
Then, I added two die cut hearts.
I stamped one with the distressed heart image in Sure Do Love You.
The other heart is Vellum and I colored it with Stampin’ Blends.
Then, I traced the outside edge with Fine Tip Glue and embossed in gold.
Behind the hearts, I attached swirls of Gold Metallic Thread.

Then, I embossed some more.
Did you notice the tiny dots in the Waterfront stamp set?
They were perfect for creating the fine detail that I wanted.
Finally, I added the leafy gold piece cut with a die from Petals and More.
