Yesterday evening was spent at the second to last band competition of the season. It really is fun watching them compete and being around all of the great teenagers. We’ve been lucky with the weather and last night was another warmish night. And the kids did a great job!
But today, thoughts of colder weather are in the air as I break out Flurry of Wishes. I was soo excited to see a coordinating punch for the snowflakes. I love a good coordinating tool.
When I was thinking about creating my design team card for TSOT243, I knew I wanted to play with something new.
My card starts with a base of Soft Sky followed by a layer of Shimmery White. You’ll notice the Shimmery White layer was cut so as to leave just a very narrow border of Soft Sky.
On the Shimmery White layer, I stroked on some Soft Sky refill diluted with water and let it puddle in places. Shimmery White holds up well to this kind of water coloring.
Next, I added two stripes of Season of Cheer washi. The patterns in this washi set are a breeze to line up.
The design element on the left is a layer of Soft Sky and a layer of Vellum cut with the Lots of Labels framelits. The Vellum mutes and subtly changes the tone of the Soft Sky layer. This element was then topped by a pair of Flurry of Wishes snowflakes cut with the Snow Flurry punch. They’re finished with Basic Rhinestones and wound through with a piece of Silver Metallic Thread.
After adding three Silver Glimmer Paper banners, it was time for the sentiment. The Soft Sky “merry” was cut with the Christmas Greeting Thinlits. And the Fine Tip Glue was perfect for applying adhesive to this narrow bit of cardstock.
Now it’s your turn…
