Last Saturday I participated in a craft show. While I sold a number of cards, a close second in sales were boxes or packaging. Everybody loves to receive a present. But, it’s an even more delicious experience when the packaging is lovely or fun. I think that’s because the packaging increases the anticipation.
When I checked out the PP270 challenge, I just knew I wanted to play along.
I pulled out the Square Pillow Box Thinlits and the Flurry of Wishes Bundle, and created a double size pillow box from Basic Black cardstock.
Here’s how:
Easy right?
Now, it was time to embellish!
I added two belly bands, one from Silver Glimmer Paper and a narrower one in Pool Party. They provided a great base for my Flurry of Wishes snowflakes.
The smaller snowflakes were stamped in Pool Party on Whisper White cardstock and punched with the Snow Flurry punch.
And when I saw today’s Weekly Deals, I remembered that the Flower Medallion punch fits the next largest snowflake.
Next, I stamped the third largest snowflake, from Flurry of Wishes, in Versamark on Whisper White. After sprinkling with Heat and Stick and heating, I coated the image with Silver glitter. Though the snowflake was shimmery, it seemed a little blah on my package. I know, I know — glitter blah! Who would have thought?!
So, I pulled out my Aqua Painter and my Pool Party ink pad and added some puddles of water colored ink in and around the snowflake. No need to worry about messing up the glitter, it’s fine with this technique. Then, I added a Pool Party Flower Medallion punch behind the snowflake. Both of these additions gave the central snowflake that little bit of pop it needed.
The final touch for all of the snowflakes was Basic Rhinestones.
This will make a pretty package for someone whether it’s for a holiday gift, a winter birthday or even a wedding.
