I spent my morning working on the tags for the senior gift for this weekend’s instrumental music banquet. Each year there is a special quote selected to go on the gift and for the last four years, I have been creating the tags. I can’t begin to tell you how thankful I am for the tools and supplies that I have on hand! Once I’ve been sent the quote, I then get to decide the style of the tag. Though I waited a bit to start on them, I’ve had the idea in my head. I’ll share a picture after the banquet.
The next part of my day was spent reorganizing. I was separating retired stamps from current stamps. Good thing I did! It brought Flower Shop back out to the front. I used it today to create a card for my neighbor who did my daughter’s prom hair last weekend.
I’ve used a standard 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Basic Black cardstock base. Over it is a 3-3/4″ x 5″ layer of Playful Palette designer paper.
All of the bright colors in the designer paper stack kind of inspired my card.
Next, I used one of the images from Flower Shop.
Tip: You’ll notice the black mark on the side of the one petal. That’s so that I know which petal should be stamped at the bottom, closest to the edge. That petal fits the bottom petal on the punch. And the black mark keeps me from having to twist and turn and figure out which way the stamped image fits. This petal has an extra bump.
I stamped the flower twice in Peekaboo Peach. After punching with the Pansy punch, I daubed Flirty Flamingo around the outside edges and in the center of the flowers. Then, I used Gold Wink of Stella and edged the flower petals and center. Next, using my stylus I pressed the large ball from the center to the edge of each petal so that the petals curve in and then up. Flipping the flower over, I used the ball to trace the center of the flower. This pushed the center up. I filled the raised center with a dimensional and used it to adhere the two flowers together.
The Playful Palette washi was attached to a 3/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Using a Glue Dot, a 3″ piece of Gold Sequin Trim was added. After attaching the washied cardstock to the card front with Dimensionals, I used a Glue Dot on both ends of the sequin trim to attach them and keep the sequins from sliding off.
Finally, I added the stacked Flower Shop flower using Glue Dots.
