While I’m not a neat freak (no offense intended), I love this time of year. All of the papers that have come home from school and have to be saved for — well, just in case — they can be sent to the recycling bin. Often this takes us about a week to wade through this stuff a little at a time. But, I am happy to say that it’s all gone. The backpack is empty and put away for next fall. Papers have all been sorted into keep and recycle. I know it’s a silly thing. But, I could do the happy dance.
I heard from a friend this morning asking what the busy girl was doing this summer. The girl (my daughter) is doing — not much. We’re looking forward to being rested and relaxed and just enjoying each others’ company. We might even work in some time with friends.
To fit today’s relaxing mode, I created on a smaller scale. It’s been a while since I’ve made any love notes. You know, the great little 3 x 3 cards that are perfect to tuck into a gift, lunchbox, briefcase, leave on a pillow or the dinner table, etc.
I used my new Flower Patch stamp set and the coordinating Flower Fair framelits. I just can’t wait to play with new products when they come in. How many of you break your new things out and use them as soon as possible? Who has found something they ordered and never used? I must admit that used to happen to me more often. Since I began creating something most days, nothing goes unused.
Don’t you love the way these pieces layer?
Now, to get a good impression with the larger flowers from Flower Patch I have a tip. First, ink and then clean the new stamps. They have a large smooth surface. This step is a good one whether you are using Photopolymer or red rubber. Second, place your cardstock on top of your Stampin’ Pierce Mat and stamp the inked image. This way you will get a smooth, complete image.
Just a cute little note. I’ve used a piece from the Moonlight designer series paper stack. With Dazzling Details and Silver Dazzling Details, I highlighted some of the dots in the paper and the rim of the Vintage Faceted button.
The last detail is a triple circle of Silver Baker’s Twine.
Cute, fresh, easy!
