My band friends have begun to post the Fall mum sale on their facebook pages. And that got me to thinking. My husband, being the good guy that he is, has been seeing to it that his mother is able to go to seniors most weeks. So today as I was trying to decide what to create, I asked if he would like to take a small favor for everybody’s place at lunch. He’s easy. Of course he said “yes”. So how do the band mums come in? Well, they were the inspiration.
And in the end, my Flower Patch favors also worked with the GDP051 challenge theme!
Love it!
I’ll be making 30 of these for the luncheon this week.
I’ve stamped the flower centers from Flower Patch in Daffodil Delight and Watermelon Wonder inks on Whisper White cardstock.
This frilly flower is a good mimic for the frilly mums.
Then, I used Flower Fair Framelits to cut out the two flower layers. The bases are Watermelon Wonder and Daffodil Delight cardstock.
I’ve adhered the two layers together with Multipurpose Glue.
Next, I cut two leaves each from Emerald Envy cardstock and stamped the leaf detail in Emerald Envy ink.
The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners. I cut the Whisper White cardstock banner with the Duet Banner Punch. Then, I gently shaped the sentiment so that it has a slight arc and inked it in Emerald Envy. Gotta love photopolymer for this!
Before attaching the leaves and banner, I ran my Bone Folder across them to give them a slight curve towards the ends.
The kisses are attached with a dab of Fast Fuse. They’re heavy enough that they need a little stronger adhesive.
Now to get them to the luncheon without melting!
