I love texting with my daughter! I can say this with a clear conscience because my daughter didn’t have a text capable phone until last year — her senior year in high school. I know! That’s pretty unheard of but, we decided she didn’t need it and we march to our own parenting drum. So why do I love texting with her? Because we share bits of our day and links to the interesting things we’ve learned about as the day goes along. This fuels a great conversation! Not quite as good as sitting on the sofa and chatting or having a meal together. But, it’s pretty darn good!
Today, I played with Flourishing Phrases and the GDP054 sketch.
Here’s my take:
I used a Thick Whisper White base measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.
Then I added a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ layer of Cucumber Crush.
On the Cucumber Crush layer I stamped a random flourish pattern in Cucumber Crush so that you get tone on tone.
The flourish image is from Flourishing Phrases.
Using Dimensionals, this layer was added to the card base.
Next, using a bit of Fast Fuse at the top and near the bottom I adhered a 5″ strip of Cucumber Crush 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon. This ribbon is gorgeous! If you don’t have it — you need it! At the bottom of the ribbon I’ve a cut a “v”.
Over the ribbon is a 1″ x 4-1/8″ piece of Whisper White to which I’ve adhered two stripes of Affectionately Yours washi.
I used the Flourish Thinlits to die cut Real Red and Cucumber Crush flourishes. They are adhered at the top and in just a couple of other strategic places. I wanted the dimension that leaving them mostly loose gives.
The Gold Glimmer Paper embellishment was cut using two different dies in the Flourish Thinlits – the two largest flowers. The top layer flower has been adhered to a piece of Whisper White after die cutting. By adding Fast Fuse to a piece of Whisper White and then laying down the die cut, it keeps all of the little pieces in. Then, I just cut off the excess cardstock before adhering the Glimmer Paper embellishment with Dimensionals.
Finally, I added a large Metal Rimmed Pearl.
Inside…
I masked off most of the flourish and stamped a small piece of the image in Cucumber Crush in the corner.
The front of the envelope has one stripe of Affectionately Yours washi
and…
the envelope flap is lined with a coordinating design.
Again, I used the flourish from Flourishing Phrases. This time I stamped on a piece of text weight paper and then cut it to fit the Medium Envelope.
