We’ve had a fun few days here. On Wednesday we went to the Pinstripe Bowl in New York City and though “our” team did not win, the band was still great! On Thursday, I took the bus back in to the City and spent the day roaming with my daughter. We checked out the Christmas Market at Bryant Park, found a couple of new stores for the list, ate at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, and checked out the tree at Rockefeller Center and the windows at Saks Fifth Avenue. Yesterday was spent tying up details before it’s time for my girl to head back to school. And for you, I’ve got this Floral Boutique New Year’s Eve creation.

Floral Boutique New Year’s Eve
This evening, I’m going to dinner with a few friends and I wanted to take something celebratory along. So, I ran out to the local fireworks store.
I made these little rockets to hold four sparklers.
I think they make fun favors and will be fun to light up at midnight for a quick celebration!
You’ll need a 1-3/4″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Whisper White. Score it in landscape orientation at 1″, 1-1/2″ and 2″. Fold score lines: valley, mountain, valley.
After punching four 1/16″ holes, adhere this piece to a 1-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Whisper White.
Tip: To get the placement of the holder piece correct, insert the sparklers first. The bottoms of the sparklers should hang over the bottom of the Whisper White base.
Next, run your Bone Folder across a 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Floral Boutique designer paper that has been scored at 1/4″ and 3-1/4″ in portrait orientation.
Add Tear and Tape to the 1/4″ sections and adhere the designer paper piece to the 1-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ Whisper White piece. It will bow to create a rounded front to your rocket.
The top of the rocket is half of a 2″ x 2″ square of Night of Navy cardstock.
You’ll add a Silver Glimmer Paper star cut with the Medium Star punch. It’s a nice finishing detail.
After cutting your numbers from Night of Navy using the Large Numbers Framelits, use the Bone Folder to gently soften the numbers. This way they’ll adhere better to the shape of the rocket. Once you’ve adhered the numbers in a slightly overlapping pattern, trace them and the top of the rocket with Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details.
While the Dazzling Details is drying, stamp “Happy New Year” from Banners for Christmas in Night of Navy on Whisper White and cut with the Classic Label Punch. Gently shape the punched banner with the Bone Folder and then adhere with a Dimensional.
To finish, you’ll add a few stars from the Metallics Sequin Assortment. Then tie a bow with Whisper White Thick Bakers Twine and add a strip of Silver Sequin Trim for a little extra bling!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Floral Boutique New Year’s Rocket favor!
