This afternoon, I created my first item with the September Paper Pumpkin kit for #stampingsunday. Have I mentioned that I really enjoy the surprise crafting supplies each month? It’s kind of like “Iron Chef”. Only with the kits, you get directions on how to create a project with the included supplies. But, here’s where the other part of the “Iron Chef” thing comes in…you can create your own recipe. If you’re an experienced crafter you may want to be like Emeril and “Bam!” kick it up a notch! No problem, you can do that.
I live in a household of readers so, there can never be enough bookmarks. It’s fun to come up with something new and seasonal.
The “Boo” and raven stamps were perfect for creating a Halloween themed bookmark.
I used the spatter from Gorgeous Grunge, inked in Blackberry Bliss, for the bottom half of the bookmark. The two small banners were punched from one of the tags in the Paper Pumpkin kit.
The “Boo” and raven were also inked with Blackberry Bliss. All of the stamped images were heat embossed with Clear embossing powder. The Very Vanilla layer was shaped with the Note Tag punch from the Holiday Catalog.
After punching a 1/4″ circle, I added some of the Tangelo Twist sequins and secured them with a bit of Black Baker’s Twine. Both of these items are also from the kit.
So, generally what I like to share are alternate ideas for a given month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. And, my subscribers receive an exclusive tutorial in addition to ideas I share publicly.
After all, you’ve seen the directions that are in the kit. And if you haven’t, don’t miss out on the next kit. Click the Pumpkin link in the sidebar to purchase a prepaid subscription from 1 to 12 months (you can even earn Hostess Rewards). Or click here to subscribe month to month.
