Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m Sara Levin the artful inker. In just a bit, I’m heading out for a couple of days with my siblings and their kids! But first, I’ve got a gorgeous over the top First Frost in Smoky Slate card to share with you.
First Frost in Smoky Slate
The grays and silvery tones in this card
make me think of several things:
a beautiful, frosty morning;
weddings;
silver anniversaries…
Start by stamping several of the leaves and floral spikes
from First Frost in Smoky Slate.
Then stamp a few pine boughs from Peaceful Noel in Versamark
and heat emboss in silver.
Cut the stamped images by hand or with coordinating Frosted Bouquet Framelits.
Also, cut berries from Galvanized Metallic Paper.
Next, stamp three, small First Frost flowers in Smoky Slate.
After sheer embossing the flowers with silver, crumple them slightly.
Add Dimensionals to the flowers and several loops of Silver Metallic Thread.
For the base, use a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Thick Whisper White.
Add a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Smoky Slate.
Before adding the 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Whisper White,
emboss with the Subtle Embossing Folder.
Layer with stitched squares in Smoky Slate and Whisper White.
After layering on all of the previously prepared pieces,
mix Frost White Shimmer Paint with a drop or two of Smoky Slate Ink Refill.
Then with a wet Aqua Painter, splatter with this shimmery silver mix.
Finish by adding a few Iridescent Sequins.
