I was so excited to receive my pre-order box of goodies this week. But, I really didn’t have time to do anything with it other than unpack it and smile. I knew I just had to choose one of the items we couldpre-order for #stampingsunday. Looking at everything, Festival of Trees ( #135059)jumped out. Not only do I love all of the design possibilities with this set, but I love that there is a coordinating punch (#135859). It’s not that I can’t or won’t cut with scissors. I simply prefer a punch, framelit or die for that job.
My first thought with a stamp set is usually what else can it be. This time was no different.
I decided to try my hand at creating a poinsettia.
Starting with Cherry Cobbler cardstock, I inked one of the trees with Versamark and stamped several of them. The trees were embossed with Gold embossing powder. And then, yea! They were punched with the coordinating punch.
There is a stamp in the set that is meant to be ornaments for a Christmas Tree. This was perfect for creating the center of my flower. After inking and embossing the image, I punched it with the 1″ circle punch.
Next, I used the punch on some Mossy Meadow cardstock for the leaves.
In this view, it’s a little easier to see some of the dimension. Leaves were added right on top of the cardstock base. Then a lower ring of petals was added using Stampin’ Dimensionals. This was followed by the top ring of petals and the center also added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
An easy card to create in multiples thanks to the punch. And for those of us making our Christmas cards, that’s important.
