A friend contacted me yesterday for some ideas for elephant favors. She needs to make a few (50) for a baby shower and wondered if I could help her out with an idea. After putting on my thinking cap, I came up with two possibilities. I thought some of you out there might also like to make elephant favors or gift boxes for “whatever” so, I’m sharing.
This first box uses a favorite tool of mine when I think favors.
The Curvy Keepsake Box is one of the most versatile tools in my collection. With a little imagination it can be a million (well maybe not that many) different things.
I’ve added 1 1/2″ circle punch ears that have been gently shaped. The trunk was cut free hand and accented with a Basic Gray Stampin’ Write marker. The eyes were punched with 1/2″ and 1/4″ punches. And the mouth is just nipped from a piece of Pink Pirouette.
My second idea uses another favorite, versatile tool.
This guy is on the front of a small bag made with the Gift Bag Punch Board.
I used the large butterfly in the Bold Butterfly Framelits for his ears. His head is the third smallest Ovals Collection framelit. Again, I’ve added a trunk cut freehand that was accented with the Basic Gray Stampin’ Write marker.
The eyes are the same size as those on the Curvy Keepsake Box elephant above. But, this time the mouth was cut use the heart punch in the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack.
From the side, you can see that his head is popped up using dimensionals. And, I’ve gently shaped the trunk so that it stands out from his face.
My friend will include a cute “thank you” poem and some sort of goodie, of course.
These are also perfect if you’re an Alabama fan – Roll Tide
