Eat, Drink and Om, Nom, Nom

August 23, 2014 No Comments

I realized this morning, that I must be having a thing with boxes this week.  I’ve created another one this morning and it must be the third or fourth this week.  I’m sure there will be a couple of more in the near future as I’ve been playing with creating more new templates as well.  Today’s creation uses one of these new templates.

Every year there are scheduling problems at school.  And after they are resolved, I like to send in a little thank you to the various people that help find/approve the solution.  This may be my packaging for the “thank you”.  Or maybe not.  I’m really never sure until it’s actually headed out the door.

Either way, it’s a cute box/package for a variety of food or other small gifts.  Change up the colors and it’s suitable for birthdays, weddings, holidays, etc.

After tracing my template on Melon Mambo, I hand cut, scored and assembled the box.  The belly band is a strip of Basic Black cardstock wrapped with Basic Black 3/4″  Chevron Ribbon.  The ribbon is tied in a square knot leaving enough to hang to about the level of the tag.  Beveling the edges of the ribbon helps to give it a finished look.

Fast Fuse is perfect for assembling the box, adhering the ribbon to the belly band and the band to the box.

For the Vellum cardstock tag, I combined images from Holiday Invitation ( #135074) and Ghoulish Greetings (#136664).  Sooo easy since one set is Photopolymer. The stamps were inked with Versamark followed by Memento ink.  Then they were sprinkled with Black embossing powder and  carefully heat set so as to not warp the Vellum.  The tag was then cut with one of the Apothecary Accents framelits.

Tip: so as not to have adhesive show through the Vellum, carefully add Multipurpose glue to the back of the tag behind the letters.
