Today is Earth Day. Is it any different than any other day? No, it shouldn’t be except that once again we come around to showing appreciation/thankfulness for what we have.
I spent a lot of time this morning shredding papers. Now, that’s a mindless job! But, when it was done I was pleased on two counts. One, it was done. Second, when I went out to the recycling bin I found that it was almost full. So, I peeked into the trash bin. I was pleased to see that there was almost nothing in there after two weeks. I know it’s not a huge thing but we try hard to not fill either bin. But, if it’s got to be one of them then it should be the recycling. I guess that’s my tribute to Earth Day.
I did, however, think that I needed to create a card today in honor of Earth Day.
I used Pacific Point cardstock for my base and cut it with a Circles Collection framelit. If you look closely on the left side of the circle, you’ll see the hinge that I left so that it is all one piece. The World Map background stamp was inked with Versamark and Basic Gray and stamped on Whisper White. Then it was heat embossed with Clear embossing powder. The map layer was cut with the next size down Circle framelit. With sponge daubers, I added Wild Wasabi for the land and Pacific Point for the water. The map piece was then added to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s cute and corny. And, would be great with a message like “You mean the world to me.”
