I get to spend a few days with my mom. We’ll mostly be hanging out. That means less electronics for me. There’s no internet here – I have to go out for that and very poor cell reception. It’s funny how disconnected one can feel when you can’t get online. Anyway…I brought a few things with me to create with. That was a real challenge for me! Do you travel with your creative supplies? If you do, leave me a comment and let me know how you plan what you take. I’d really love to know as I’ll be doing more visiting around this year than I’ve been able to for years. Help me – I know I can learn to do this!
I’ve got a lovely, simple card for you again today.
I started with a Tip Top Taupe base measuring 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”.
Then, I cut three Soft Sky ovals with the Layering Ovals.
After deciding how I wanted to arrange the Soft Sky ovals, I added a little Gold Wink of Stella to the center oval as a highlight. This oval also has Dimensionals added.
To the top of the Soft Sky pumpkin, I’ve added a hand cut stem from Gold Glimmer Paper.
What’s that behind the pumpkin you ask?
It’s a piece of the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate. Have you seen it yet?
I had not seen it in person until it was on the Special Offers. I am so glad I took a chance on this gorgeous product! It has been totally under loved by me and I’m going to fix that!
The piece on the card measures 2-3/4” x 5-1/2”
When I cut it, I almost freaked out!
As I separated it from the larger piece, it began to peel! Ackk! No, no, no! I couldn’t believe I had ruined this beautiful window sheet. Then I took a deep breath, thinking about how I was going to remedy this situation. Silly me!
It’s Window Sheet! That means it has a protective layer on it to be peeled off when you get ready to use it. So don’t freak out – just peel it off!
To attach the Designer Acetate, I used my favorite Multipurpose Glue and just dotted it around behind the design.
I thought this simple card still needed a little something. After trying several ideas, I landed on a piece of the gold bakers twine from the Baker’s Twine Trio Pack. I tried a couple of different adhesives and found that the Multipurpose Glue was the one. I ran a very narrow line of glue right up against the Designer Acetate layer and then placed the gold baker’s twine. Once it had dried in place, I trimmed both ends down to size.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my super, simple Fall card.
