After enjoying one more quiet day at home yesterday, we’re ready for the busy-ness that December brings. Today, I’m sharing my third in a series of Christmas cards. This one happens to be my design team card for Try Stampin’ On Tuesday.
I combined Delicate Ornaments with the TSOT247 sketch.
Again today, I went for non-traditional color. I’ve used Blackberry Bliss, gold and Into the Woods designer paper.
The sketch was divided into lots of panels so, I approached this as if I was creating a card using “card candy”.
The first panel in the lower right is a square of Gold Foil paper that has been run through the Softy Falling embossing folder. It adds a nice counterpoint of texture.
I think this ornament cut from Into the Woods designer paper is just gorgeous!
It always pleasantly surprises me that one can cut a piece of designer paper with an intricate die and end up with something totally different and amazing every time!
Tip: to give the designer paper ornament a little more strength and stability, I cut a second ornament from Blackberry Bliss and adhered them together.
For the panel in the upper left, I cut Blackberry Bliss with the flower shaped die and then used the same die on a piece of Gold Glimmer paper. I then placed the glimmer paper “flower” into the hole in the Blackberry Bliss panel.

Next, I cut the round ornament in Blackberry Bliss and backed it with a piece of Gold Foil paper. It gives a nice glow to the ornament.
Then, I tied a triple loop bow with the Gold Metallic Thread and attached it to the top of the ornament.

Given the pieces on the card, this sentiment from Happy Scenes seemed perfect!
“Deck the Halls” is stamped in Blackberry Bliss onto a piece of Into the Woods designer paper.
The sentiment banner is backed with half a Gold Metallic Foil Doily, which provides a nice accent to the banner.
Now that’s all the deets on my Delicate Ornaments card.
