Another beautiful day and time to get those Mother’s Day cards in the mail if you’re not going to see her on Sunday.
I spent a little time this morning, creating my card. Now, I don’t have a specifically for Mother’s Day stamp set. But, that’s okay. We’re creative people who like to do creative things. So, I thought creatively.
After you take a look at today’s card, be sure to scroll down and check out the the Weekly Deals and new Digital Downloads (there’s some Project Life in with this group). Now, on to my card.
I used the Circle Card Thinlit to cut the Calypso Coral cardstock base. For this card, I created an extra flap so that you see designer paper across the front and can’t see the interior of the card until you open the extra flap. (I’ll put up a video tomorrow to show you how to add the flap.)
The designer paper is from the I Am Me collection. There are lots of great prints in this pack. And as it happens, it’s part of this week’s deals.
For the front side of my flip, I punched a piece of Crushed Curry with the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle. Then, the sentiment from Starburst Sayings was inked in Calypso Coral and stamped on Whisper White. This piece was cut with the Starburst framelits. Since it’s for Mom, I wanted it to say “my” world rather than “the” world. So, I took the Countless Sayings 2 photopolymer set and colored the “y” in “you’re” and the “m” in “make” with a Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write marker and stamped on Whisper White. This piece was then punched with the Word Window punch. Those Perfectly Placed Guides made it a snap to line up the letters. All of the pieces were layered on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment on the reverse side of the flip is one in the From My Heart set. It was inked in Calypso Coral and the Whisper White piece was then punched with the 2 1/2″ circle. Final details were two small Basic Rhinestones used to highlight the sentiment.
Mom’s card is done. Now, I just need to write my message and get it in the mail.
Now on to the specials.
