As I’ve mentioned before, I was really excited to see the Cutie Pie Thinlits in the new catalog. I love the idea of adding these to a celebration! And me being me, I have to experiment and see what else I can make it do other than make a beautiful looking cake box.
Here’s my first alternate idea for the Cutie Pie Thinlits. I’ve created a horse.
I think he would be perfect for a western or equestrian themed party.
As mentioned, I started with the Cutie Pie Thinlits to cut a Chocolate Chip box and rather than using the box in the usual fashion, I turned it so that it is side up.
The ears are cut using the bow die that is included in the thinlits. I trimmed the inner piece of the ear slightly so that it layered.
Then, I cut a piece of Early Espresso large enough to cover the back and fold over the top. The folded over section was cut with Fringe scissors to create the look of a bit of mane.
The eyes are 1/2″ circle punch for the Whisper White and 1/4″ circle punch for the Basic Black pupils.
For the muzzle, I cut a strip of Early Espresso and added 1/4″ circle punch Basic Black dots for nostrils and then added half an Extra Large Oval punch of Early Espresso above the strip.
Isn’t he cute? The wheels are turning to come up with other alternate ideas, so check back.
