Happy Thanksgiving! It’s been a week chock full of traditions here that culminated in today’s Easton/Pburg football game. What a beautiful day we had!
The week began with the traditional Powder Puff game between the two schools. It was loads of fun and the “cheerleaders” were great. Unfortunately it did not start out as a win for our side. Tuesday was wood collecting and stacking for the bonfire; the pizza/dance party for the two schools’ bands; and the senior sleep out (it got down to 28° overnight). Wednesday was breakfast provided by the underclassmen in the instrumental music program and the Pep Rally for the big game; the parade; and the bonfire complete with fireworks. And today was the big game. And it is big. They’ve been playing it for 109 years. So much fun and tradition packed into one week. There’s more, but I don’t want to bore you.
While my dinner is in the oven, I thought I’d share my last treat for the band. It’s been fun! Great program, great kids! But, this is our last marching band season.
Using the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit as a base, I created this bulldog, aka Red Rover, for the Easton/Pburg game played today. I’ve made a treat for almost every football game the last four years and I wanted to make the last one something really special.
Thanks for allowing me to be a part of something truly special.
