Welcome to the September Creation Station Blog Hop! This month each of us is showcasing our favorite stamp set from the new Holiday Catalog. I hope you’re as excited as I am to see what this creative team has come up with!
My favorite that I’m showcasing today is Paisleys and Petals. I just can’t get enough of it and am soon going to have a stamp revolt on my hands if I don’t play with some of my other new sets.
As soon as I saw the Paisleys and Petals and the coordinating Paisley Framelits, I knew what I wanted one of my creations to be.
I couldn’t wait to make this flower! It is the perfect accent for my white dinner plates and a similar one for each guest’s take home treat. I love the simplicity of creating a special accent for each place setting.
I stamped seven of the dotted paisley image on Bermuda Bay in Versamark and then heat embossed in Silver. The paisleys were then cut with the coordinating Paisley Framelits. Taking my Bone Folder, I gently stroked each paisley to give it a little curl. Then, I placed a circle of hot glue on my Silicone Craft Sheet and arranged the petals.
For the inside of the flower, I used another one of the framelits and cut three Silver Foil pieces. I strategically added hot glue to these before arranging them and making sure to overlap the bottom circle. The circle was them topped with the largest Basic Rhinestone.
As I mentioned the top of my gift box is similar but different.
I trimmed the bottom of each of the paisleys so that the proportion of the finished 3D piece better fit the box.
For this flower, I used six paisleys. Then, I added a 1-3/4″ punched circle of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. Since Dimensionals do not stick well to glimmer paper, I added a bubble of hot glue and gently set the top layer on. This image was also embossed in Silver and cut with the Paisleys Framelits.
Before adding the flower to the top of the gift box, I attached lengths of Silver and Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim using Glue Dots. Then, the flower was attached with Dimensionals.
At this point, I had a brain storm and made one more thing!
I had the ends of the paisleys sitting on my counter and thought they’d make the perfect embellishment for a card. So, I cut a 3″ x 5-7/8″ piece of Whisper White and stamped a random pattern of images from Paisleys and Posies in Bermuda Bay.
And guess what?
This little note card fits perfectly inside the sleeve that’s around the White Gift Box!
So it’s a twofer! Not only does it add a little extra decoration to my box but, it’s my note to my guest or gift recipient as well.
I love when the brain is working!
