Welcome to my blog! This month the international Creation Station design team is sharing ideas from our particular area for celebrations or gatherings. For the Creation Station Blog Hop – In My Neighborhood theme, I’m sharing about a personal favorite. I have loved picnics since I saw (and purchased) a picnic basket in a cute store near the college I attended. On Friday evenings in the Fall and Spring, a friend and I would gather a few simple items for a picnic and drive up to one of the mountain overlooks. There we would sit and chat about our week, unwind and watch the sunset. It was a lovely way to end a week!

Today, I have a few creations to share that dress up simple picnics like those I enjoyed years ago.

While picnics can be anything from simple to lavish,
these boxes and napkin holders totally fit my style!

I “found” these great boxes when I was taking home food left from a dinner out.
Not about design — but I LOVE that these are 100% bio-degradable.
As for design, I started with the Petal Garden designer paper stack and worked around it.
My box is closed with a wrap of Sweet Sugarplum 3/8″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.
On top are squares of Pool Party cardstock and Petal Garden designer paper.
The tag on the front is stamped with images from Eastern Beauty.
Then, it was embellished with Eclectic Layers Thinlits die cuts.
–
–
For my napkin holder, I used the Pocket Framelits and created a double sided pocket.
It is embellished with a strip of Petal Garden designer paper and
Eclectic Layers die cuts.
–
–
Inside the box, I had room for a sandwich, veggie, fruit packet and dessert.
–
–
For the fruit and dessert, I used 3″ x 6″ Gusseted Cellophane Bags tied with Whisper White Bakers Twine.
On the dessert, I added a tag stamped with images from Oh So Eclectic.
I masked the sentiment so that it says just how I feel about a simple picnic with friends.
Now, I’m ready to grab a friend and have a sunset picnic!

Thank so much Linda! So many possibilities for these little boxes!!
Sara: Your picnic set is so pretty! What a clever idea to use the pocket Framelit for the napkin holder! FYI: I’ve been admiring your photography on your blog and Instagram. You’re doing a great job–they look professionally done!! xoKathyxo
Thanks so much Kathy for both your kind words on my project and my photography!!
Oh, my! These are so lovely! I would be afraid to put food in them.
Thanks Sara! They’re just “prettied up” take out containers.
