Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m Sara Levin aka the artful inker. Today I’m hopping with the Creation Station design team. And, I’ve played with a couple of new stamp sets! So, let’s take a look at my Creation Station Blog Hop Man Made projects. Afterwards, you’ll want to tour the rest of the hop for more masculine themed creations.
Creation Station Blog Hop Man Made
Pick a Pennant and Swirly Frames Masculine Birthday Card
For today’s creations, I used Pick a Pennant and Swirly Frames.
By using them with the Stamparatus, I was able to be a little more creative.
First, I created this clean masculine birthday card.
Over my Night of Navy base, I have a Whisper White focal layer.
Using the Stamparatus, I was able to shape and perfectly overlap the pennants from Pick a Pennant.
Then, I stamped and embossed one of the frames from Swirly Frames.
Tip: Cut the cardstock for the frame to the outside width, then stamp before cutting out the center.
For the sentiment, I used Happy Birthday Gorgeous.
But, I masked the curlicues on the ends of the letters (I didn’t think they were very masculine).
Again, by using the Stamparatus I was able to perfectly center the sentiment within the frame.

Pick a Pennant and Swirly Frames Masculine Birthday Gift Box
My design for the top of the gift box is similar to the card.
Same clean lines!
This time, my frame and sentiment layer are the same size.
Just as with the card, I adhered the frame using Foam Adhesive Strips.
They’re so easy to use when you need a straight edge to have dimension.
With these two projects ready, my daughter can get her dad’s birthday present ready for him
before she’s abroad for the rest of the summer.

What a truly elegant card. Loving the frame with the overhang of image behind. Great layout xx
Thanks Mikaela! I need to swing back and play with both of those sets again.
Sara: I love your manly birthday card and matching gift box! The navy and gold embossing are stunning. Thanks for the tip on masking the curlicues for the letters. Smart! xoKathyxo

Absolutely great cards–taylored look and masculine feel. Perfect. I’ve been seriously looking at these new Swirly Frames and your card has been the deciding factor–I need these!
Thank you Sara! Everyone needs the Swirly Frames. They look a bit intimidating but they are oh so friendly!!
