Welcome to the November Creation Station blog hop!
Today, we’re sharing creations inspired by being thankful or saying “thanks”. So wherever you are in the world whether you just want to say “thanks” to someone or you’re preparing for Thanksgiving, there is certain to be something here for your needs.
I started by thinking about a card – crazy right?
I am still loving the color combination from GDP061 and decided to play with it again — once was not enough!
I started with a standard Basic Black base and added a 4-1/8″ x 5-38″ Whisper White layer.
For the background, I used the images “Thanks” and “Thank You” from several different stamp sets – Helping Me Grow, Thoughtful Banners, Tin of Cards, and Perfectly Wrapped. They combined fonts, sizes and styles for an interesting effect.
I laid my acrylic block over my Grid Paper making sure two edges were against the dark axis lines. This gave me a visual for keeping my block straight as I applied the stamps. The grid lines under the block helped me to be sure my words would be straight on the block.
Tip: Using a Stamp a Ma Jig makes positioning/stamping the grouped words a breeze.
The words were inked with Emerald Envy.
Next, I used the Hello You Thinlits. The “thanks” thinlit was used to cut four Emerald Envy “thanks” and one Basic Black “thanks”. After adhering the group of die cuts together with the Basic Black “thanks” on top, I added a coat of glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen to the top. It dries with a shiny finish. So, my “thanks” looks lacquered.
Finishing details were a strip of Playful Palette designer paper in Sweet Sugarplum that was banded on either side by Basic Black Bakers Twine before adding two White Perfect Accents that I have colored with black Sharpie.
To continue with today’s theme, I created a gift bag.
I love baking and I love sharing the baked goods.
This box is a perfect way to share some of those things while saying “thank you”. It’s also a perfect size for many other gifty items.
To make the box I used a 7/12″ x 11″ piece of Basic Black cardstock and made a medium bag using the Gift Bag Punch Board.
The Whisper White panel on the front measures 2-3/4″ x 6″ and is stamped with the block of “thanks” and “thank yous” inked in Emerald Envy, that I used for my card above.
This time for the die cut “thanks”, I cut three in Basic Black and adhered them. Then, I cut one “thanks” from Sweet Sugarplum and adhered it slightly offset so that the black “thanks” create a kind of drop shadow. Again, I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to flood the top of the “thanks” so that it too would have a shiny finish.
Tip: Hold the tip of the Fine Tip Glue Pen at a slight angle to keep from getting bubbles in the coating.
After adding the closure tab, I finished it with a piece of Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon.

What a creative card and bag! Love that you layered the thanks sentiment a few times to make it really pop!
Thanks Holly! They really came in handy this last week when I had a last minute thank you gift needed.
I love how you had another vision for the GDP colours, Sara. Your creations are beautiful. D x
Thanks Denita — it really is a great color combo.
These are so fun, Sara! I love the fun foam–such a great and easy way to pop up those words! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Dena! But no fun foam here — just good old fashioned cardstock.
Oh I love the simplicity of this card. Such clever use of the sentiments, inking them up as one and I adore the stacked die cut sentiment xx
Thanks Mikaela ~ it was a fun way to use all those sentiments.
