Creation Station Blog Hop Embossing

 

 

While it’s been super hot the last week, it’s also been beautiful and summery.  And, I wanted a to make a card that reflected that feel of summer!

After looking through my stamp sets, I settled on Sweet Strawberry.  Though strawberries are available much of the year, they still scream summer to me.

 

For my first bit of embossing to go with today’s hop theme, I pulled out one of the Paper Lattice pieces.  I love the delicate look of the lattice and the fact that it adds instant texture with no effort on my part.  It doesn’t hurt they it comes in a 10 pack.

Here, I’ve added some scattered gold heat embossing to add a little more texture/visual interest to the lattice.

 

Next, I embossed some of the strawberry detail before adding the rest of the color.  This technique helped me to create lots of variation in shading for my strawberries that are not yet quite ripe.

 

Finally, I added the sentiment cut into a more organic shape to balance the straight lines of the lattice.  And then I softened the card by adding the White Baker’s Twine bow.
