It’s time for the February Creation Station blog hop! Welcome!
Our theme this month is Love/Valentine’s Day and we’re creating with the Bloomin’ Love suite of products.
We’ve got a wonderful international design team and lots of creativity to share with you.
Enjoy!
I’ve created a couple of 3D items that could be used for a variety of occasions linked to “love”.
First, I created this filigree box using the Bloomin’ Hearts Thinlits.
This simple white on white box is accented with a few of the flowers that are coordinated between the Bloomin’ Love stamp set and the Bloomin’ Hearts thinlits. They’ve been inked in Rose Red. Just a couple of the flowers have been accented with Basic Rhinestones in an attempt to keep the box simple and elegant.
This pretty little box will hold a few chocolates, a smaller, special gift or even a tussy mussy of flowers. Wish I’d thought to pick up flowers before I took my pictures!
Any excuse for fresh flowers will work for me 🙂
Edited: Due to the large number of requests, I now have a tutorial for the Bloomin’ Heart Box available.
Next,
I found this little old fashioned canning jar and new it would be perfect for something.
When I got to thinking about my projects for the blog hop, I came up with what I think is a romantic idea.
First, I wrapped the jar with Love Blossoms designer paper.
Then, I added a length of Sahara Sand Lace Trim and topped that with a length of Blushing Bride Sequin Trim.
Moving on from there, I topped the jar with a pretty, sparkly piece of Blushing Bride glimmer paper.
The rim on the jar is very narrow but I still wanted to embellish it.
I settled on creating a honeycomb heart.
I stamped six Bloomin’ Love hearts in Blushing Bride and punched them with the Sweetheart punch. The Sweetheart punch will only punch a portion of the stamped image.
Tip: To punch hearts that are reasonably similar, line up the top indent in the punch with the indent in the stamped image before punching.
Then I scored the hearts down the center and adhered the hearts to each other before hot gluing it to rim of the jar making sure my placement allows the jar to easily open and close.
So what goes inside?
These “love you because” notes.
I cut round notes using the Circles Collection framelits and stamped them with images from Bloomin’ Love.
This jar will hold about a bazillion of these notes! Which is perfect!
This would be a great gift at a rehearsal dinner with all the guests writing short notes to the couple.
Or how about starting off your married life with a jar full of empty notes — well the first two could be written on ones wedding day. Then add to the notes over the years on special occasions and just because.
I figure this is a sure way to help keep the love alive by both writing and reading the notes. Similar to the idea of writing down what you’re thankful for each day — so you don’t forget to be. Love can be like that too — so you don’t forget it.
Thanks for stopping by.
