Hi! Welcome to my blog. The Creation Station Blog Hop Bird is the Word was the perfect excuse for me to pull out both Bird Banter and Flying Home. After you have had a chance to look at my creations, you’ll want to check out what the rest of the Creation Station design team has done with our bird theme!
Creation Station Blog Hop Bird is the Word
I started my card with a Tranquil Tide base.
Then, I’ve added a piece of Whole Lot of Lovely designer paper.
For my focal layer, I used a smaller size so that I would have a large border of the designer paper showing.
Next, I masked the birdhouse trio from Flying Home and stamped just the center house with Tranquil Tide.
For the cockatoo from Bird Banter, I stamped in Smoky Slate.
To color in the bird, I used Light and Dark Pink Pirouette.
Then, I added the leaves in Old Olive and colored them in with Light and Dark Old Olive.
😉 Get it — olive branch –haha
Finally, I used the Labeler Alphabet to create a custom sentiment
to say I’m sorry.
I just love this set as it allows me to create with my own turn of phrase.

Project 2
For my second creation, I made a little favor or RAK.
Again, I started with a Tranquil Tide base.
Then, I added a banner belly band made from Whole Lot of Lovely designer paper.
Next, I punched a piece of Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper.
Over that, I placed my Whisper White punch with the Toucan from Bird Banter.
For the toucan, I first stamped in Archival Basic Black.
Then, I added the bright colors using Stampin’ Blends.
To color the body, I scribbled with Basic Black marker onto an acrylic block
and picked up the color with my Blender Pen.
By adding color this way instead of directly with the marker, I was able to control shading.
For the sentiment, I used one from Bird Banter in Tranquil Tide.
To cut it out, I used the Everyday Label Punch.
Click HERE to see a chart of shapes you can make with the Everyday Label Punch.
Finally, I accented the sentiment with a Tutti Frutti sequin.

Thanks Elizabeth! I don’t know about clever. But, I do enjoy a good pun that plays on our images.
Awesome, Sara. How fun to mix & match stamp sets, and your favour is adorable! D xox
Thanks! Denita. I agree, a little mixing and matching can be quite fun creatively.
