Welcome to my blog and the Creation Station creative tour and #stampingsunday. For this edition of our blog hop, we’re focusing on Amazing Birthday and birthdays in general. I’ve created a whole birthday ensemble for you today.
My husband’s birthday was this past week and I was almost in the dog house. Thank goodness I always have supplies on hand. I had forgotten! But, Stampin’ Up! to the rescue when the date finally dawned on me. We’ll start with his card which became the inspiration for the rest of the pieces.
I started with a Whisper White card base and then added a Bermuda Bay layer. The Bermuda Bay layer was embossed with the Zig Zag folder. Over that I added a Whisper White banner that had been inked in Bermuda Bay. The polka dot banner peeking out is a piece from the June Paper Pumpkin kit. The middle of the banner was wrapped with a piece of Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine. Finally the banner piece was added to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Now the focal image stamp is not as long as the image on the Whisper White banner. I did a little masking. Before inking the stamp, I placed a Post It note over the part of the image that I didn’t want inked. Though “Happy Birthday” is showing in the picture, it was covered by the mask. Sorry for replacing it incorrectly when I took the picture. Though, I’m sure you get the idea. You’ll notice that I’ve used this idea on several of today’s creations.
For my next few pieces, I decided there needed to be a little decor.
First is a simple centerpiece.
I’m thinking this is perfect for the center of the gift table if you’re having a party. Or if it’s a small family affair, put this on the guest of honor’s place at the table.
I’ve used a half sheet of Confetti Celebration designer paper cut on a diagonal. To that I added a banner tag using two images from Amazing Birthday inked in Bermuda Bay. I’ve backed them with Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry banners. A mini clothespin is used both to attach the banner and as an accent.
Now the great Bermuda Bay flower is from the Chalkboard Banner Kit. Simply fluff it up and you’re ready to go.
Next, I figured this party needed more decor. So, I a banner.
I started by using pre-cut banner pieces from the Chalkboard Banner Kit. There are so many great pieces in this kit. To them I added the Bermuda Bay stamped image. This was placed over a Crushed Curry banner piece. To this I added a Silver Glimmer Paper star and a Tea Lace Doily. To hang the banner, I used a piece of Daffodil Delight seam binding.
The banner is perfect for a wall at home or in a coworker’s cubicle. Or, think about hanging it on the door.
Okay, it’s not a birthday without cake. Or in this case, cupcakes.
I was a little short of cupcakes when I was ready to photograph. Once again the flower from the Chalkboard Banner Kit comes in handy.
The images were stamped in Bermuda Bay on Whisper White and then punched out. To these I added circle punches of Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Island Indigo. The scallop circle punch at the back of each pick is from the June Paper Pumpkin Kit.
I might have been having too much fun creating because, I’m not done yet.
It’s a birthday so of course there will be a gift.
For my gift bag, I started with a Chevron Tag A Bag and added a colorful banner from the ….you guessed it! Chalkboard Banner kit. In fact, I like this grouping so well on the banner above, that I created it again for the gift bag. I think it helps to tie the whole theme together.
Now someone’s had an awesome birthday with all the decorations, treats and gifts. There’s only one thing left to do.
You need to spend just a couple of minutes on memory keeping. So, that’s what I did. I spent a couple of minutes choosing Everyday Adventure journaling cards that coordinate with my overall color theme. There’s space for a quick memory and a picture or maybe two if I feel really crazy.
Thanks for stopping by. You’ll find supplies for each project below. And of course, you’ll want to take the rest of the hop. If you can from Teneale’s you’ll want to go forward and if you came from Heidi’s you’ll want to click the “back” button.

I like the way you have changed the look of the stamp by extending it with a mask – what a great idea. The cupcake toppers are super cute too! What a great set of projects!
