Hi there! It was a beautiful day and evening yesterday. Hot but not too hot. And last night when I ran out to get dinner for my mom and me, it reminded me of evenings at the beach. Breezy, warm, slightly damp air. Perfect for sitting out on the patio or enjoying outside dining somewhere. Ahh summer! That was the thought in my head – well summer and the 4th of July – when I created for today. Cool Treats for the 4th of July — well, that’s summer with a little patriotic coloring!

Cool Treats for the 4th of July

I started with an oblong/rectangular base for my card using Pacific Point.
Then, I added a layer of Crushed Curry.
And finally the focal layer in Whisper White cardstock.
Measurements:
Base: 6” x 7”, scored at 3-1/2” along the landscape side.
Layer 1: 3-1/4” x 5-3/4”
Layer 2: 3” x 5-1/2”

I alternated stamping the striped popsicle in Real Red and the solid popsicle in Pacific Point.
This helps with spacing.
Once I had stamped all of the popsicles from Cool Treats,
I came back and added the popsicle sticks in Crushed Curry and Pacific Point.
Then to add a little detail, I added a frosty line
on the Pacific Point popsicles by using the Fine Tip Glue Pen
Tip: The wet glue pushes some of the ink color away so that you get a lighter area where the glue is. More movement happens if the ink is still wet when the glue is added. Either way, it’s a fun effect!
