Today I’m playing with Climbing Orchid for TGIFC115. The color combo for this challenge just called to me. I’ve been all over bold and bright lately. And, I just love the Climbing Orchid stamp set. I have a special place in my heart for orchids. They remind me of my first corsage I received for dance from a young man from Thailand.

Climbing Orchid for TGIFC115

The colors for the challenge were Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.
My base is Tranquil Tide and is followed by a layer of Lemon Lime Twist.
On the Whisper White layer, I stamped with Tree Rings in Tranquil Tide.

Then, I used my Aqua Painter and Lemon Lime Twist ink and
randomly colored some of the tree rings.
Using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits, I cut a stem from Tranquil Tide.
Next, I inked the orchids in Berry Burst and their centers in Lemon Lime Twist.
I cut out all of the orchid pieces using the Orchid Builder Framelits.

The sentiment is also from the Climbing Orchid stamp set.
I cut it out and accented it with dies from the Popcorn Box Thinlits.
Continuing to layer, I tucked in a piece of the background that I had trimmed away, a couple of Berry Burst bits left over from a cut with the Ticket Tear Punch and some Linen Thread that I pulled apart.
The final touch are a smattering of sequins from the Metallics Sequin assortment.
