Cheery Chirps with Stampin’ Blends

Hi! I’ve been helping with my daughter’s Halloween costume today. We’re collaborating long distance this year. Pictures, texts, suggestions…Now my pieces are headed her direction so that she can finish creating her look. We do LOVE this! Dress up never gets old.  Once her things were out the door, I spent a little creative time on my own things.  I made a Cheery Chirps with Stampin’ Blends (the new alcohol based markers coming from Stampin’ Up! on November 1) card.  I’d been waiting on inking this stamp and now I know why!

Cheery Chirps with Stampin’ Blends

I started with a base of Night of Navy cardstock.

Over that, I added a layer of the beautiful Naturally Eclectic designer paper.

I love the tones used for the gems!

Then, I tucked in a piece of Crinkled Seam Binding.

On the other side is a silver Foil Snowflake.

And at the bottom is a piece of a doily.

Next, I cut a Whisper White circle with a Stitched Shapes die.

I inked the bird from Cheery Chirps in Memento Black and stamped off.

For the outline, I wanted more of a gray tone than a black.

Then, I began my coloring.

I used both tones of Old Olive for the leaves.

And for the bird, I used both tones of Pool Party and Night of Navy.

Tip:  Use the Color Lifter to increase shading variations.

After touching the beak with Daffodil Delight, I dotted on berries with Cherry Cobbler.

To give the berries some dimension, I touched each of them with Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Finally, I added a few silver sequins — gotta have my bling!
