Celebrate Today for Creation Station

Creation Station Blog Hop Banner

Welcome to this week’s Creation Station blog hop.  Today, we’re celebrating birthdays. I’m focusing on Celebrate Today from the Occasions Catalog.  Celebrate Today was a must have set for me when I first saw the catalog.  I love the variety of images and being a tool girl, I also love that there are coordinating framelits.

I don’t often have occasion to celebrate a little person’s birthday anymore.  So my birthday thinking is for a slightly older crowd.

I created this first piece with them in mind.

I think this little gem is perfect for placing on a coworker’s desk. Or, whip it out at a celebratory lunch and set it in front of your friend with the birthday.

I used my Stampin’ Stylus to give the balloon a little dimension.  And then I attached it to piece of floral wire that’s been wrapped with Sweet Sadie washi tape.

I made this easy triangle base from Whisper White cardstock.  Then using the 1/8″ Circle Punch, I added a hole to the top crease.  I’ve decorated the base with a little Stacked with Love designer paper and some Gold Glimmer Paper.

And, every birthday needs a card with a hand written note.

So, I created this coordinating pocket card.

I love that the photopolymer stamps are flexible.  I was able to bend and reshape the gold balloon string so that the triangles are pointing towards the pull for the note.

Being the tool girl, I also had to play with the coordinating framelits.  I really like the stars and splatter image and wanted to use it on window sheet but didn’t think it would show well by itself against the Melon Mambo background.  So, I cut a second balloon from Basic Black and used the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to remove the center.  That was just what I needed to create an accent frame for the images on the Window Sheet.

And finally, there’s the note card itself. “Happy” and “Birthday” were embossed in gold on one end of the card, leaving plenty of room for a personal note.

The pull for the card is created from loops of Black and Gold Baker’s Twine that have been added to a loop of Gold Sequin Trim.

I hope these ideas have got your wheels turning for ways to use Celebrate Today and to celebrate birthdays.  Now, it’s time to move along in the hop.  Click the button below for the direction you’d like to travel.
