Graduation is upon us! There are umpteen parties to attend and graduates to whom we want to wish congratulations and future success. So, I put together my first group of graduation themed projects and thought I should share them with you as you may also be in need this time of year. They’re all quick and easy so even if you’ve waited until the last minute, you’ll be able to whip them together!
Here are today’s group of graduation projects.
I used Banners for You, BYOP and Celebrate Today.
My red, white and black color theme is a result of the school colors for the graduates I will be celebrating.
First up is my Celebrate Today graduation card. I’ve used a standard Thick Whisper White base measuring 5-1/2″ x 81/2″ scored down the middle.
Next, I added a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ layer of Real Red cardstock and a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Whisper White.
The balloons from Celebrate Today were inked in Real Red and “graduation” was inked in Memento Black.
I love that photopolymer stamps are shape-able. I took the straight balloon string image and placed it on my block in a curvy pattern before inking it in Memento Black.
Finally, I used the Large Number Thinlits to cut out a Whisper White “16”.
This card would look great in whatever your school colors happen to be!
Next,
I made this graduation favor using the Curvy Keepsake Box. It literally doesn’t get any easier than this!
Cut your box in your preferred color (mine is Real Red) and add a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ Basic Black square. Cut a slit an 1/8″ wide and an inch in from what will be the front and back points of the cap. Then just slide it over the handle of the box.
I’ve added a Thick Bakers Twine tassel in Whisper White. I used four 2″ loops to make the tassel. After tying it, I cut the bottom of the loops and frayed the twine. Then, I stuck it to the top of the cap with two Glue Dots.
Then,
I made two gift card holders cut from Basic Black using the Gift Card Thinlits. The inside of the holder is lined with a 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Whisper White.
To the top gift card holder I added a Real Red belly band measuring 1″ x 5-1/4″.
Then, I stamped the sentiment from BYOP in Real Red on a 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Whisper White. To embellish this layer, I added a Gold Glimmer Paper start cut with the Confetti Stars punch and a piece of Pop of Pink washi.
Using Fast Fuse on the belly band, I adhered the Whisper White layer.
To decorate the outside of the second gift card holder, I used Banners for You.
The banner was stamped in Memento Black. It was sooo easy to add the Real Red sentiment words to the stamped banner since they are photopolymer!! This is definitely going to be a new favorite!
After using the Bunch of Banners framelits to cut out the banner, I used the negative to figure out the placement for my stamped leaves.
Tip: Simply place the negative over the piece where your banner will be attached and pencil in light tick marks. Then you’re ready to stamp.
Finally, I added Memento Black leaves and Real Red flowers/berries before attaching the banner with Dimensionals.
The 2-1/2′ x 3-3/4″ Whisper White layer was attached to the 5-1/4″ Organza Ribbon belly band using Fast Fuse.
I’m all ready for this weekends’ parties!
